According to U.S. News & World Report, Ram has earned the title of ‘Best Truck Brand for 2021.’ This isn’t the first time U.S. News & World Report has bestowed the brand with such an honor either. This is actually the second consecutive year that Ram has earned the ‘Best Truck Brand’ title. But what is it about Ram that makes it better than any other truck brand out there? At least based on what U.S. News & World Report has to say, anyway.

How U.S. News & World Report chose its winners

U.S. News & World Report didn’t pick Ram at random. Instead, to determine its award winners, it broke down each automotive brand’s offerings into four categories: Cars, SUVs, Trucks, and Luxury. U.S. News & World Report then averaged the overall scores of each brand’s vehicles in each category and then named the brand with the highest overall average score as the winner in its respective category. As for those scores? U.S. News & World Report says those numbers came directly from its U.S. News Best Cars rankings, which are based on a blend of safety ratings, reliability data, and the consensus of automotive journalists.

Jamie Page Deaton, the Executive Editor of U.S. News Best Cars, explained in a press release that “Ram wins the Best Truck Brand award on the strength of the Ram 1500, which is one of the few trucks on the market that makes a case for itself as a work vehicle and daily driver.”

Deaton explained further that, “The Ram 1500 features a coil-over suspension that makes the Ram comfortable enough for commuting, but capable enough for serious towing and hauling.” 

For Deaton, the Ram 1500’s interior is pretty impressive too. He explained that it features a “top-notch infotainment system with intuitive controls and a huge touchscreen.” And when it comes to those higher-end trims? According to Deaton,  those costly trim levels feature materials that “keep pace with what luxury SUVs offer.”

According to U.S. News & World Report, the Ram 1500 led the way for this win

All in all, U.S. News & World Report says that the  “Ram 1500 is towing the brand’s success.” And that’s not wrong either. The Ram 1500 is the kind of pickup that can be had in a variety of ways. It’s available with a long list of engines. And when properly equipped? It’s capable of towing up to 12,750 pounds too. 

But the 1500 isn’t all work and no play. According to U.S. News & World Report, passenger accommodations in the Ram 1500 make for a pretty great selling point. Its Uconnect infotainment system is considered to be among the best when it comes to functionality and ease-of-use too. And while it might be a bit more expensive than its competitors, U.S. News & World Report says that the extra spend is well worth it.
