It’s time to rock out with this battle of the vans as the refreshed Toyota Sienna challenges the Chrysler Pacifica for the title of the best minivan. After spending time with both vans, we know where the 2022 Toyota Sienna and 2022 Chrysler Pacifica shine.

Let’s jump right in with value. The 2022 Toyota Sienna starts at $35,285, while the top-spec Sienna Platinum model comes in at $50,000.

You can get started with a 2022 Chrysler Pacifica for $37,095, and the top-spec Pacifica Pinnacle model brings the price up to $54,045.

The base model of the Pacifica comes with more features, such as a hands-free power liftgate and remote start. The Pacifica also takes luxury options a bit further with upgraded leather upholstery and a simulated suede headliner.

Both vans offer a wireless charging pad, ventilated seats, a built-in vacuum cleaner, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree surround-view camera, and a premium audio system.

Does the Sienna or Pacifica have a better performance?

The 2022 Toyota Sienna has a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that’s paired with electric motors to crank out 245 hp and 176 lb-ft of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 7.8 seconds. It can tow up to 3,500 lbs.

With the 2022 Chrysler Pacifica, you get a standard 3.6-liter V6 engine with 287 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. The PHEV uses the same engine and two electric motors to generate 260 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque.

The gas-powered Pacifica can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 7.8 seconds. When properly equipped, it can tow up to 3,600 lbs.

The Pacifica has a quieter interior at highway speeds, but the Sienna has a slightly smoother ride. It glides over impacts, while the Pacifica’s trips have a sense of connection to the road for sportier feedback.

While the Pacifica is more athletic and better for cornering, it also has more body roll-around curves. The Sienna feels a bit more stable around sharp bends. However, the Pacifica seems a bit more agile. It’s easier to whip into tight parking spots.

Both vans have parking sensors and 360-degree camera displays to help avoid obstacles. But the Pacifica only has 5.4-inches of ground clearance, and the Sienna has up to 6.9 inches of ground clearance.

The Sienna Hybrid gets an EPA-estimated 36 mpg in the city and on the highway. If you upgrade to the Crysler PHEV, you get up to 32 miles of all-electric range, and up to 82 MPGe.

Is the Pacifica or Sienna more versatile?

The 2022 Toyota Sienna has more storage space for personal items, with a massive cubby under the center console. The 2022 Chrysler Pacifica feels a bit tiger with smaller storage areas. However, you can fold the third-row seats flat and remove the second-row seats in the Pacifica.

With the Pacifica, you get 32.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row with up to 140.5 cubes total. The Sienna has 33.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats and up to 101 cubes in total. You can create a flat load floor in the Pacifica.

The Sienna offers a little more passenger space for adults in the second and third rows, though. Also, the Sienna has more comfortable seats.

Both vans offer modern amenities such as onboard Wi-fi, household-style outlets, built-in navigation, and rear sunshades. But the Crysler is available with Amazon FireTV connectivity and a live fam cam.

Deciding between these vans is tough, but the Sienna has a standard hybrid powertrain, a more comfortable ride, and more passenger space. The Woodland Edition is well-equipped for outdoor adventures too.

The Pacifica PHEV saves more fuel, but it’s more expensive unless you qualify for the $7,500 federal credit. Also, it has more cargo space, a quieter interior, more versatile uses, and higher-quality interior materials.
