The 2023 Hyundai Palisade has received plenty of praise and awards. As with any passenger vehicle, the Palisade’s good value is essential because consumers don’t have unlimited funds to spend on cars. That said, the cheapest trim might not be what most drivers want. So here’s what a realistic build for this popular SUV will cost.

Here’s what a realistic 2023 Hyundai Palisade looks like 

Hyundai offers several Palisade trims. One of the more balanced is the SEL. It starts at $39,000, making it the second-cheapest trim. However, a realistic build for the Palisade will push the purchase price to just over $45,000. That’s because the SEL has a few extra standard features, and it has an optional package that the standard Palisade doesn’t offer. 

The nearly $5,000 Premium Package adds a long list of features. They include a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster display, front parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera system. The seats are also more luxurious, as the second row is heated and ventilated, and the driver’s seat gets four-way lumbar support. Plus, this package provides synthetic leather upholstery instead of cloth.

By choosing that package, shoppers can access many features they might want. For example, the Premium Package also includes an intercom system that allows the driver to talk to passengers sitting in the back easily. It also adds many advanced safety features, including Highway Driving Assist II. Other than that package, the other significant additional expense is the freight cost. That adds $1,300 to the final price.

Most car shoppers don’t get the base model

Ultimately, a car’s final price will differ because consumers’ tastes vary. Most shoppers will be happy if their 2023 Palisade has black or red exterior paint — both free options. However, Hyundai offers a paint option that costs more, the $450 Hyper White.

Many consumers also live in places that experience wintry weather. So they’d likely want all-wheel drive, a $1,900 option. Hyundai also offers a $340 Winter Package, including mud guards and floor mats. However, drivers who live in warmer climates like California and Florida don’t need those features. 

Hyundai has one impactful option that’s free, though. The SEL trim can seat seven or eight passengers. That choice doesn’t cost extra, which is good news for both types of shoppers. 

How a realistic 2023 Hyundai Palisade build compares to the standard trim

In comparison, the 2023 Palisade base model is much cheaper than the range-topping trim. It has a starting price of about $36,000, but Hyundai charges the same freight cost. So, even a standard Palisade costs about $37,000. Because the base model sits just below the SEL, the two SUVs are fairly similar overall. 

A few differences exist between a realistic Palisade build and the base model. The standard trim can seat eight, but it doesn’t have the second-row captain’s chair option that the SEL offers. Also, the base model doesn’t have heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, or wireless phone charging.
