3 Reasons the 2023 Nissan Frontier Beats the 2022 Frontier
The 2022 Nissan Frontier was a bit of a comeback year for the midsize truck. Although it didn’t become a best-seller, it improved tremendously compared to previous model years. However, the 2023 Nissan Frontier is better than ever before. It’s a big step up from the 2022 Frontier with the changes it received headed into 2023. Here are three reasons the 2023 Nissan Frontier beats the 2022 Frontier.
The 2023 Nissan Frontier has a Midnight Edition Package
The Midnight Edition Package is one of the biggest changes to the 2023 model year from the 2022 Frontier. According to Cars.com, it is an optional package for the 2023 Nissan Frontier SV crew cab. Moreover, it has black 17-inch alloy wheels, side mirrors, lower bumper, and grille. Along with all these blacked-out parts, the Frontier gets LED foglights, headlights, and daytime running lights.
Lastly, the exterior of Frontier models with the Midnight Edition Package gets a little upgrade too. These include black exterior badging, black interior trim, and a black headliner. Comparatively, the 2022 Frontier did not have any cosmetic-focused packages like this. Many automakers implement black-out packages to improve the design and make vehicles look “cooler.” We think the Frontier looks tough and rugged enough on its own, but we’ll never say no to black trim.
New standard features
For the 2022 model year, the Nissan Frontier SV had an available SV Convenience package. According to Edmunds, it added a spray-in bed liner, adjustable bed tie-down cleats, bed under-rail lighting, two outlets, heated mirrors, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats, a trailer hitch wiring harness, proximity keyless entry, and dual-zone automatic climate control. For the 2023 Frontier, many items on the list of features in the package are now standard for certain Frontiers.
Cars.com says crew-cab long-bed SV models now get a standard heated steering wheel, spray-in bed liner, adjustable bed tie-down cleats, bed under-rail lighting, and heated front seats. Finally, the Pro-X and Pro-4X off-road midsize truck models sit at the top of the lineup. Each one now comes with standard wireless Apple CarPlay, which was previously unavailable.
The 2023 Nissan Frontier is barely more expensive
Unfortunately, nearly every make and model gets more expensive every year. For some, this can be a disappointing big uptick in starting price, making models out of reach for average buyers. However, the 2023 Nissan Frontier is barely more expensive than the 2022 Frontier. Most trims only get a $500 price increase, but it varies throughout the lineup. Additionally, the SV Convenience Package is up to $1,430, and four-wheel drive is now $3,200 on models with standard two-wheel drive.

Reasons the 2023 Nissan Frontier beats the 2022 Frontier
In conclusion, the 2023 Nissan Frontier is better than its predecessor for a few reasons. Things like the new Midnight Edition Package, improved standard equipment, and only a small price increase make the 2023 midsize truck better. In addition, it’s newer, and who doesn’t love the latest version of most trucks?
