Recall Alert: 456,565 Ford Mavericks and SUVs May Lose Power
Every time I turn around there’s another recall. Today’s recall involves nearly half a million Ford Maverick and Ford Bronco Sport models. Because this Ford recall is so big, you will need to check if your Ford Maverick or Ford Bronco Sport is involved.
Ford Recall due to Ford Maverick and Ford Bronco Sport battery issues
This massive Ford Recall involves 456,565 Ford Maverick and Ford Bronco Sport models because a battery issue may lead to the loss of power. The recall included 2022 – 2024 Bronco Sport SUVs and 2022 – 2023 Maverick trucks.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), an unexpectedly low 12-volt battery charge may cause some electrical accessories such as the hazard lights to improperly function.
Also, the vehicles may lose power. Either way, this issue will increase the risk of accidents and injuries.
Ford shared that it’s committed to ensuring safety and satisfaction for our customers. Affected owners will receive a notification to have their vehicle software updated at no cost. Customers can use a mobile service pickup and delivery to complete this Ford recall.
Ford will begin mailing letters to owners at risk on May 13, 2024. The number for this recall is 24S24 and you can contact Ford customer service at 866-436-7332 for more information.

If your Ford Maverick or Bronco Sport is involved, you will have to visit a local dealership for service. You don’t have to return to the same dealership where you purchased your vehicle.
Ford technicians will recalibrate the body control module and power control modules at no charge. Also, Ford is unaware of any accidents or injuries related to this problem.
This is the sixth recall for the 2023 Maverick and it’s the fourth one that’s related to the electrical system. As a result, the Maverock’s reliability rating could be negatively impacted.
Also, the Ford Maverick, Ford Escape, and Ford Bronco Sport were involved in a recall involving a fuel leak and fire risk last week. Stay tuned for updates as Ford recalls seem to strike frequently.
