Another Recall Slams the Ford Explorer for Suspension Issues
Some SUVs can’t catch a break. The Ford Explorer continues to cause headaches with recall after recall. This time the 2023 Ford Explorer is struggling with a suspension issue. See if your model is involved.
2023 Ford Explorer recall due to suspension problems
Ford is recalling certain 2023 Ford Explorer models due to a potentially hazardous suspension problem. But the good news is that only about 113 models are affected.
Only the Explorer models assembled at the Michigan Assembly Plant on December 13 are involved.
The problem is related to the right lower fastener in the front that connects the steering knuckle strut. The bolt might be loose or missing.
As a result, the loose or missing father may cause improper tire alignment resulting in steering pull or make it more difficult to steer.
Plus, the brake hose could contact the tire and become damaged, leading to leaking brake fluid and the loss of braking ability. Both scenarios result in an increased risk of accidents and injuries.
If your Explorer is involved, then you will need to take it to a local Ford dealership for service. It doesn’t have to go to the same dealership where your vehicle was purchased.
A Ford technician will inspect the vehicle for damage and either tighten or replace the bolt as needed. The work will be completed at no cost to the owners. Schedule an appointment online or on the phone to save time.
