Is this the month of recalls? It sure feels like it for large Ford models. Every time we turn around, there seems to be another Ford F-150 recall. From windshield wiper motors to leaking brake fluid, this truck is going through the wringer. 

Ford F-150 recall alert for leaking brake fluid 

According to ABC News, the Ford F-150 has another recall. Nearly 215,000 pickup trucks, Ford Expedition models, and Lincoln Navigator models in the United States and Canada might have a brake fluid leak. 

As a result, these vehicles may have longer stopping distances. This could increase the risk of accidents because stopping these trucks and SUVs requires more effort and more space. 

Ford will begin notifying owners about this problem around April 25 via mail. If your vehicle is at risk, dealers will replace the master cylinder and front brake booster at no cost. But you will have to travel to a local Ford dealership for maintenance. 

Oddly enough, this is the third recall for the same brake master cylinder problem. It occurs in vehicles equipped with 3.5-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engines. Ford is currently unaware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue. 

What are the Other F-150 recalls?

The 2022 Ford F-150 was recalled in December 2021 due to having a fractured driveshaft. As a result, the truck could lose power or a sudden loss of control as the driveshaft hits the ground.

It could also cause unintended movement while parked if the parking brake isn’t engaged. Back in May, the F-150 had a similar recall because the driveshaft may separate.

Earlier in the week, the F-150 received a recall for inoperative windshield wipers. The faulty motors prevent the wipers from working which could reduce visibility in inclement weather situations. Earlier in the year, the F-150 faced a recall because the entire windshield could separate from the truck.

Back in October 2021, the F-150 received a recall for faulty airbags. The airbags may not deploy properly, increasing the risk of injury during a crash.

Speaking of safety issues, in August 2021, there was another recall due to seat belt problems. Misrouted seatbelts might not adequately restrain an occupant during an accident.

Another Ford F-150 recall was issued due to faulty brakes because they faced a reduction in performance. Plus, there was a recall for the sudden loss of steering control.

The 2021 F-150 has over eight recalls so far while the 2021 Ram 1500 only has about five. Also, the 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 has about five recalls as well. So the F-150 is slightly above average despite having higher reliability rankings.
