“I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like it.” The police statement reflected near-disbelief at the “treasure trove” of evidence at their disposal. A driver in Demark (foolishly?) filmed his dangerous habits, even posting footage on social media. Now, his own recordings have resulted in 86 preliminary reckless driving charges.

Local police held the driver in May for operating a motorcycle without plates or a valid permit. When they discovered the driver had a camera mounted to his helmet, authorities confiscated it. The footage contained several hours of footage that took police months to comb through, parting out dozens of offenses.

For example, the driver filmed himself popping dozens of high-speed front wheelies, including around other road-goers. Authorities found 25 instances of the move, resulting in the same number of preliminary charges, ABC News reported.

The investigation also noted the driver moving double (or more) the posted speed limit a dizzying 38 times…again, all from his own footage.

Several more charges involve endangering others.

Police say the footage also captured two other law-breaking drivers. Authorities located them and seized their vehicles, too.

Inside the scene, it’s “common” practice to remove license plates or avoid registering the vehicle or even obtaining a permit. This makes identifying a reckless driver, especially one who consistently evades police, much more difficult.

If you look around, social media is full of motorcyclists driving on the edge of Kingdom Come. At best, reckless driving charges could result in a prison sentence. At worst, it’s a good way to unalive yourself or a nearby road-goer.
