Though the UAW walkout was over last month, there are still repercussions affecting assembly plants. The first plant to strike was Ford’s Michigan Assembly Plant, which makes the Bronco and Ranger. Now, Ford is announcing it is canceling all unfilled orders for the 2023 two-door Bronco Heritage and Heritage Limited. But there could be a silver lining for the order cancellations.

Some of the order holders got a production confirmation and even a VIN to track. For those, Ford will give them its “transaction private offer certificates.” That means they receive a $4,250 discount on a 2024 Bronco Heritage or a $3,090 discount on Heritage Limited models. 

What recourse do Bronco order holders have?

According to Ford Authority, there are a couple of steps to go through before getting these discounts. First, when submitting a new order, it must have the same order number as the previous 2023 order number. It will also need approval through Ford’s Customer Order Verification Program (COVP). These steps can be done through a Ford dealer and must be sent to Ford by December 1, 2023. 

Obviously, the only vehicles built at this assembly plant are Broncos and Maverick trucks, and this cancellation only affects the 2023 Bronco Heritage. But we wonder if other Bronco or Maverick models might also see cancellations. The 2024 Ford Bronco was to begin production earlier this month. Now, early January is the new date for beginning production. 

What are some of the changes for the 2024 Bronco?

So, there are less than two months left for 2023 model year production. Starting August 15, Ford began taking orders for the 2024 Bronco, and it began scheduling earlier this month. But as you can see, all of these dates are subject to change, with Ford having little it can do about some of them. 

One big change for the 2024 Bronco is the base model. Ford will no longer offer a “base” model Bronco, instead handing that to the Bronco Big Bend. But with that move comes a significant price hike to $41,025. The 2023 base Bronco pricing began at $36,785, for a price hike of over $4,200. 

How much have 2024 Bronco prices increased?

All 2024 Bronco trims are up by at least $1,100 each. Of note is the Wildtrak, which has an MSRP of $61,920. It now comes with the 2.7-liter twin-turbo V6. And the Raptor price comes in at $91,730, which is a $3,255 increase from last year. 

More changes are found inside. All Broncos will now get the 12-inch infotainment screen. And for those who step up to the Bronco Raptor, a Code Orange package can be ordered, which includes new colors, orange accents, and body-color fenders. 

So, while there are changes to prices and options, the Bronco remains one of Ford’s most popular SUVs and is trail-ready for off-road action.
