Revealed! Bold New 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe 3-Row SUV
Hyundai is once again pushing the envelope with these leaked images of its 2024 Santa Fe three-row SUV. The images, via China, show a more upright body with fewer crown-to-body surfaces and hard edges, conveying a brawny look. While the body has a slight wedge shape from front to back, the top features a sloping, narrowing taper as it transitions to the rear. Many details broadcast a stylized yet rugged SUV design.
The Santa Fe is a midsize SUV featuring three rows of seating. It features a longer wheelbase than its predecessor and shorter overhangs. With the blocky and bold angular black trim around the wheel openings, it conveys a rugged, almost raw look.
What engine will the Hyundai Santa Fe get?
That theme is also seen in the rear, where the tailgate is almost vertical with only a slight taper forward of the rear window. Both the headlights and full-width taillight bar are LED. They incorporate an “H” to advertise the SUV’s origins, as does the front bumper and repeating H pattern in the grille. The low position of the wrap-around taillight bar is an interesting feature.
Hyundai has already said the new Santa Fe will have the 2.5T HTRAC engine, which means a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. It should exceed the current 2.5T’s 277 hp and 311 lb-ft of torque. All-wheel drive will be standard on all models. And a hybrid version should also be forthcoming, though details are a bit fuzzy at the moment.
How big are the Santa Fe dual screens?
Inside, a very linear, flat-panel interior looks more upscale than rugged, in a good way. Nappa leather, two 12.3-inch curved screens side-by-side directly in front of the driver, and a generous center console with two wireless charging pads are some of the highlights. The passenger-side dash is a flat, clean panel with no interruptions, with the exception of the air conditioning vents, which run the full width from left to right. And recycled plastic is used throughout the cabin.
The front and rear suspension are independent. They provide what appears to be generous ground clearance. The Santa Fe’s wheelbase should exceed the current model’s 108.9 inches.
When will the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe be available?
Hyundai won’t unveil the 2024 Santa Fe until August, when MotorBiscuit will have much more to provide. We don’t know about pricing, but it will likely be in the mid-$30s, with top trim models at $50,000. It should be available in the U.S. at the end of this year.
