Getting Ridiculous: 729 hp 2024 Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid
Say you want a Porsche Cayenne, but the top-of-the-line Turbo GT just doesn’t cut it. Maybe the answer is a 2024 Turbo E-Hybrid. Why? Because the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 pounds out 729 hp and 700 lb-ft of torque, that’s why. And just for comparison, remember that the 2023 911 Turbo has 572 hp.
Whether it is the last V8 in a Porsche SUV isn’t known. But that’s some crazy power to rival many other Porsche models with its 183 mph top speed and 0 to 60 time of 3.5 seconds. Of course, much of the increase in power from the previous high of 165 mph is because of the plug-in hybrid system.

And that’s partly due to the 25.9 kWh battery, much larger than the previous Cayenne hybrid’s 14.1 kWh. And there is an 11 kW charger adding extra range and speed, too. So Porsche is clearly upping the Cayenne’s game as SUVs slowly take over every automaker’s lineups. At some point, coupes and sedans may be history, though we hope clearer heads prevail.
Porsche was able to squeeze 591 hp out of the 4.0 for 2024. The rest comes from the 174 hp electric motor. That 729 hp beats both the Ferrari Purosangue and Lamborghini Urus numbers. And Porsche says the battery-only range improves on the previous 20 miles, though it hasn’t indicated what the new number is.
How much is the Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid?
Beyond these changes, the rest of the 2024 Cayenne carries over the same goodness as the 2023 model. That means the adaptive air suspension and Porsche Torque Vectoring. For those who want even better handling, Porsche Dynamic Control is still an option. This adds rear-wheel steering to the mix.
But as with everything, all this SUV goodness comes at a price. In the case of the regular Cayenne body style, that’s a base price of $148,550. For the Coupe, it will set you back starting at $153,050. These prices also beat the Urus’s $230,000 and Purosangue’s close to $400,000 price tags, though they’re less exclusive and beat the Cayenne on looks.
When will the E-Turbo be available?
That’s our only beef: Porsche could have done a better job of making the Turbo E-Hybrid more distinct. For the money, we doubt owners are OK with their Cayenne’s common look to every other Cayenne model on the road.
