Shopping for an SUV that’s quiet with user-friendly controls, great visibility, and a comfy back seat? Consumer Reports recently put together a list of stress-free SUVs that have all those qualities and more. And one of those SUVs is the 2021 Hyundai Palisade.

But does the latest model’s anxiety-free comfort come standard? We’ve got the details.

The Hyundai Palisade won’t drive you crazy

It’s easy to find listings of the best cars, trucks, or SUVs. You can even find roundups for the top vehicles under a given dollar value. But you’ve got to admit Consumer Reports‘ “Stress-Free SUVs That Won’t Drive You Crazy” is clever. 

Most dealers let you test-drive an SUV you’re interested in, but that brief trip won’t tell you a lot about the vehicle. There’s much you don’t learn about a vehicle until you’ve had it for a couple of weeks. And even then, you might not know whether the back seat is comfortable until someone rides there.

CR’s auto experts buy the vehicles they test and drive them at least 2,000 miles before they even begin assessing them. The process allows them to evaluate the experience of living with the vehicles as a consumer would. Their analysis is much more comprehensive than a test drive.

Using that experience, their test results, and member surveys, CR compiled its list of SUVs offering comfort and tranquility. The team declared the 2021 Hyundai Palisade the midsize SUV with the best rear-seat comfort and cabin quietness.

That wasn’t the only thing they admired about the latest Palisade.

Here’s what the Hyundai Palisade offers

Consumer Reports’ experts not only appreciated the latest Hyundai Palisade’s back seats for their comfort. But they also liked the fact that the seats are adjustable and roomy.  

There’s plenty of passenger space for adults in the back. Two adults can sit comfortably in the third row if you move the second row of seats up, CR reports. The second row can slide forward and back for great flexibility. You can even adjust the seatback’s angle for greater comfort.

They explained the third row is low to the floor, so it’s not hard to get back there even for adults. That’s where the ability to slide the second row with the touch of a button comes in handy. And that last row is perfect for kids.

As for serenity, the 2021 Hyundai Palisade does an impressive job with noise suppression. The cabin is well-insulated to keep out most wind and road noise. There’s some engine hum in the background, but it’s far from obtrusive. 

CR also loved the Palisade’s suspension and 20-inch tires. They do a good job of absorbing road imperfections, which also reduces noise.

The 2021 Palisade’s CR score

Consumer Reports found the 2021 Hyundai Palisade to be a highly capable SUV that’s great for families. They liked its practical powertrain and thoughtful interior, along with the comfort and tranquility it offers.

The latest Palisade can seat up to eight people, and the team had an easy time getting comfortable regardless of the model. Not only does the Palisade have many comfort features, but it also has easy-to-reach USB ports for passengers in the back. There’s also a convenient second-row seat release to let folks get to the third row.

Overall, the CR team found the 2021 Hyundai Palisade to be as appealing as it is functional. They gave it an overall score of 85 out of 100, and they recommend it.
