Rivian R1T Makes a Fool of Other EV Trucks for Off-Road Action: Are You Jealous, F-150 Lightning, Hummer EV, Cybertruck, and Silverado EV Buyers?

Do you want an electric pickup truck that delivers high-level off-road capabilities? If so, then the Rivian R1T is the best choice for you. No other EV truck can match the off-road prowess of the R1T.

In a previous article, we detailed how the Rivian R1T is the ideal electric pickup truck for outdoor enthusiasts. One reason for this is the Rivian programs and services that cater to nature-loving EV truck buyers. The other reason is the incredible off-road capabilities of the R1T. The high-level off-road capabilities of the Rivian R1T start with its innovative quad-motor all-wheel drive system. It delivers a total system output of 835 hp and 908 lb-ft of torque, with a 0-60 mph time of 3.0 seconds.

The power output of the quad motor system only tells half the story of the R1T, though. With an electric motor for each wheel, power is channeled to a specific wheel as needed for optimal traction. Also, the torque delivery for the EV truck is instantaneous. This is especially crucial when rock crawling, for the instantaneous torque delivery prevents wheel slippage.

Another beneficial off-road feature of the Rivian R1T is its adjustable air suspension. The adjustable air suspension enables you to raise and lower the height of the R1T. For extreme off-road use, you can raise the R1T to a ground clearance of 14.9 inches. At the lowest end of the spectrum, the R1T can be lowered to 7.9 inches. The lower ground clearance is to make it easier to load cargo items into the electric truck.

The R1T also has many drive modes for different driving situations. This includes All-Purpose, Sport, Off-Road Auto, Off-Road Rock Crawl, Off-Road Rally, Off-Road Drift, Conserve, and Tow Mode. On the towing front, the R1T can tow up to 11,000 pounds.

For enhanced traction, the R1T offers 20-inch all-terrain tires. Available in two different designs, including anthracite, the all-terrain tires enable the R1T to drive just about anywhere.

Beyond the off-road features, the R1T boasts impressive off-road specs. In addition to the 14.9-inch maximum ground clearance, it has a wading depth of 3+ feet, an approach angle of 35.5º, a departure angle of 30º, and a breakover angle of 26.4º.

Furthermore, you can choose from a wide assortment of adventure accessories for the R1T, such as a rooftop tent and cargo crossbars. Also, for cooking meals out in the wilderness, the R1T offers a camp kitchen.

If you want an electric pickup truck that can handle the rigors of off-road use, then the Rivian R1T is the best choice for you. No other EV truck matches the off-road prowess of the R1T. This includes the Ford F-150 Lightning, GMC Hummer EV, Tesla Cybertruck, Sierra EV, and Silverado EV.
