The Rivian R1T may be new to the automotive market, but after less than a few hundred models produced, it seems the electric truck is here to stay.

Should you buy a 2022 Rivian R1T electric pickup truck?

The 2022 Rivian R1T Launch Edition starts at $74,145. It is much too expensive for the average consumer. Today, popular full-size pickup trucks start much closer to $30,000 and top out around $60,000.

The R1T is an electric adventure truck designed for outdoor adventurers who regularly explore the great outdoors. If you aren’t willing to spend at least $69,000 on a truck, the Rivian R1T is probably a pass. It is an amazingly capable truck for the select few that get to experience it.
