If paying well over six figures for a brand-new Rolls Royce isn’t expensive enough, there’s good news. That’s because the British carmaker has just announced a new accessory for the ultra-luxurious Cullinan. It’s called the Pursuit Seat, and there is no way around it; it’s a carbon fiber and aluminum folding chair. According to Rolls-Royce, prices for the seat start at $8,769.

What makes this Rolls-Royce seat so special?

Like pretty much anything Rolls-Royce produces, this is no ordinary folding chair. The handmade leather built to host your rear end can either be color-matched to your vehicle or serve as a contrast piece. The aluminum frame is polished, as you’d find in other accessories from the British carmaker. Keeping the weight down and the price up is the use of carbon fiber for the single pole that holds the seat up. As if pulling a custom folding chair out of a Rolls-Royce wasn’t fancy enough, there’s also a logo displayed in the main hinge.

If you decide to attend an outdoor event with your Pursuit Seat, Rolls-Royce has included a slot in which you can store tickets. So you don’t have to use the flashlight on your phone, Rolls-Royce has fitted a small flashlight into the seat, specifically in case you find yourself sitting outdoors in the evening.

If you looked at the chair alone, you’d probably guess that it isn’t too expensive. However, given that it comes from the folks over at Rolls-Royce, there is a significant premium. Prices for the seat start at £6,581, or about $8,769. The keyword here is “start.” Given how customizable the seat itself is, prices could quickly climb when opting for specific materials. However, if you’ve already splurged on a custom vehicle, chances an almost $9,000 chair is a drop in the bucket.

Who is the pursuit seat for?

If you’ve just ordered the all-new Rolls-Royce Ghost or perhaps the enormous Phantom, you’re out of luck. That’s because the Pursuit Seat is designed to go with the Cullinan. Although you will most likely still be able to purchase it, you won’t have a specialized place to store it in your vehicle. That’s because the Cullinan features a “Recreation Module.” In short, it’s a small shelf that extends from the Cullinan’s rear and allows you to store items or other accessories.

Throwing your brand new foldable chair in the back of your Cullinan isn’t luxurious enough for Rolls-Royce. That’s why they’ve developed a specific leather case for you to store your leather and carbon fiber chair with. Given the high level of customization available, chances are you’ll be able to get the leather case to match the interior of your Cullinan.

If a bespoke chair to match your Cullinan isn’t fancy enough, you can also get a 1:8 scale model of your luxurious SUV. According to Rolls-Royce, each one takes over 450 hours to complete by hand. The tiny Cullinan reportedly includes over 1,000 individual components and offers over 40,000 standard colors. Although pricing varies drastically depending on the specification, expect it to be quite expensive. Above all else, these optional extras demonstrate that Rolls-Royce can excel at building just about anything.
