Each year, this is one of two times for the best deals on a pop-up camper, travel trailer, fifth wheel, or motorhome. Fortunately, it is also the time of year that RV awards are announced. That means that right now, it is easier to identify a good unit to take the family on an adventure in. We have already covered the 2021 winners of the RV News awards for Toy Haulers, Class As, Class Bs, Class Cs, and entry-level travel trailers. Today, we cover the winner of the 2021 award for the mid-level travel trailers. These units are priced at a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price of $32,001 up to $50,000.

Multiple first-place winners

It is important to note that the mid-level travel trailer category had multiple winners of its top award. So, there is not a first and second-place winner as you would expect. Instead, there are two first-place recipients. They are both highlighted below.

2021 Cruiser RV Radiance 28BH

RV News judges found the slide-out portion of the 2021 Radiance 28BH to be impressive. Adding to the open and airy feel the slide-out presents are multiple panoramic windows that permit a lot of natural light in the cabin. There is also a 6-foot 11-inch ceiling. So, even tall people do not need to feel claustrophobic.

In the bedroom portion of the Radiance, the trailer boasts room to get around a king-sized bed. There is also plenty of closet and drawer space. Additionally, further up the floorplan of the RV, there are also bunk beds, a fireplace, and of course, a kitchen. The bathroom does have separate shower and toilet areas.

Outside, the Radiance RV has an outdoor kitchen for entertaining. There is also a feature called Full Belly Storage. 

2021 Jayco Jay Flight 34RLOK

Jayco is a name that has been around for a long time. So, the company has had time to process the feedback from customers. This helps them adjust floorplans and introduce new products. The 2021 Jay Flight 34RLOCK travel trailer RV is an example of meeting those customer’s needs.

Prime amongst the call-outs of the unit is the three slide-outs. Space is a big concern for customers. So, three slide-outs in this mid-level price range are welcomed. The slide-outs provides space for a kitchen island without crowding the cook in the process.

There are also many other niceties the RV manufacturer can be proud of with this trailer. For example, a large fridge, double sink, three burner cooktop, hardwood cabinets, residential furniture, and an outdoor kitchen are all within the camper. The award judges claimed that all these features are typically only found in units priced $20,000-30,000 higher.

Travel trailers provide some of the comforts of home when the family is out on a grand adventure. Of course, the greater the price point, the more features, and space is available. The Radiance 28 BH and the Jay Flight 34RLOCK are mid-priced travel trailers that provide a healthy dose of features and space for their given price points. So, it is no wonder they were called out together for the 2021 RV News Mid-Priced Travel Trailer of the Year.
