For Serious Hauling You Need This 10-Wheel Dual-Dually Escalade Pickup
When a performance house has a shop truck, it doesn’t take long for it to become a project. Wanting something to handle the serious race car hauling it does, Sceptre Industries in Riverside, California, cut into this 2004 Chevy Silverado. Not wanting to go lightly, it went with spreading out the load by way of extending the Silverado chassis to accommodate eight dually rear wheels. A double-dually, if you will.
The dual -dually sits on 22-inch Brentz wheels
Sitting on Brentz 22-inch wheels and tires, the suspension is adjustable with an airbag system. But that’s not all that can adjust the height. The bed can also be raised and lowered with a hydraulic system.
Power is from a 529 ci twin-turbocharged Cadillac V8. Yes, it has an old-school Caddy motor for power. No longer legal to register in California, it is currently for sale in Phoenix, Arizona. Those huffed 529 cubic inches crank out 1,425 hp and 1,671 lb-ft of torque. The Cad Company was behind the plumbing and install of the Garrett turbos. It is backed by an Allison five-speed transmission.
In a previous guise, the dual-dually was seen at shows throughout the US
The dual-dually was originally treated to a custom paint combo of red and champaign two-tone. In that form, you may have seen it at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, as well as other venues around the country. Obviously, it is now all black, with ivory leather seats and door panels.
There is also a Kenwood audio system and touchscreen panel. The door panels have also had an array of speakers built into them. Those modified door panels look a little rough; which we hope isn’t indicative of the build quality throughout the rest of the truck.
Though Cadillac made an Escalade pickup, this started out as a Silverado dually
It has also been treated to a Cadillac Escalade front end as a nod to what lurks under the hood. Cadillac did make an Escalade pickup for a few years. The last year was 2013, but never with the last of its monster-cubes V8.
With the bed extended and those 10 big wheels, the truck looks like it is sporting a chopped top, but it is not. But this beast does present a strong presence nonetheless. It is currently for sale through Gateway Classic Cars in Phoenix, Arizona, on eBay for just under $100,000. We doubt you could build one for twice the price.
