Should You Pay More for the New 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Than the 2022 Lincoln Navigator?
The 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer is a brand new rendition of an old favorite and it looks like it’s going to be a pretty nice (and expensive) luxury SUV. So should you pay more for it than the old mainstay of the luxury large SUV class, the 2022 Lincoln Navigator? Let’s look at what each SUV is bringing to the table, and whether the 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer vs the 2022 Lincoln Navigator will be an easy battle to settle. The 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer costs more than the 2022 Lincoln Navigator
The 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer price starts at $87,845. If you decide to upgrade, you could get the Series II $93,995, or even the Jeep Grand Wagoneer Obsidian for $98,995. The most luxurious of the Grand Wagoneer is the Series III, which starts at $103,995.
The standard 2022 Lincoln Navigator is more expensive than the 2022 Escalade, but still cheaper than the Grand Wagoneer, at about $80,000, though exact pricing hasn’t been released yet. The most expensive 2022 Navigator, the Black Label L, could come in at about $105,000.
The Grand Wagoneer has a killer infotainment system
According to Kelley Blue Book, the 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer comes with 45 square inches of screens, including a 12.3-inch digital instrument screen and a 12.1-inch infotainment display. There’s even a 10.25-inch screen just for air conditioning and seat heat.
The 2022 Lincoln Navigator has a 13.2-inch touchscreen and plenty of USB ports, as well as a 5G hotspot. You don’t have to choose between Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in the 2022 Navigator, as it comes with both. It comes with a 14-speaker Revel system, though you could opt for the 28-speaker Revel Ultima 3d.
The 2022 Lincoln Navigator’s engine isn’t quite as powerful
The 2022 Lincoln Navigator has a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that can make 450-hp and 510 lb-ft of torque. This engine is the only option for the 2022 Navigator. The Jeep Grand Wagoneer, on the other hand, has a 6.4-liter V8 capable of 471-hp and 455 lb-ft of torque. That engine is matched to an eight-speed automatic transmission and a payload capacity of 1,450.
The 2022 Lincoln Navigator is slightly smaller than the Grand Wagoneer, with a wheelbase of 122.5-inches. The Jeep Grand Wagoneer has a slight advantage in this category, at 123-inches. It’s also the longer SUV, at 214-inches, which is four inches longer than the Navigator.
The 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer may be more expensive than the 2022 Lincoln Navigator, but you just may find that it’s money well spent. Its larger size, more powerful engine, and top-notch infotainment system make the 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer a more luxurious choice than the Navigator. Yet with crash test results not in, it’s hard to say which is truly the best SUV. It may be some time before we have a clear picture of just how great the new Jeep Grand Wagoneer is.
