It can also only tow up to 1,500 lb. Other SUVs that are similar in size like the Rav4 can tow up to 3,500 pounds. 

However, on a positive note, some trim options are available in all-wheel drive, giving you the ability to traverse snow and dirt roads. By having a ground clearance height of 7.8 inches and coming with 20” tires, this vehicle can clear some obstacles. 

The VW Tiguan is also pretty capable of climbing over some inclines with an approach angle of 26.2 degrees and a departure angle of 23.3 degrees. However, remember that this vehicle is not made for off-roading. Never do anything that you don’t feel confident about.
