Depending on which configuration you get, you can buy a 2023 Ford F-150 truck with a hybrid engine. And despite being a hybrid, this is no Toyota Prius. The PowerBoost engine makes 430 horsepower and 570 pound-foot of torque. And those are pretty solid numbers. Also notable is that when properly equipped, an F-150 Hybrid can tow up to 12,700 lbs.
Although some may be doubtful of a hybrid truck, Ford is showing it is not afraid to embrace the future. Even when it comes to one of the brand’s flagship models.
What is Pro Power Onboard?
One of the more significant benefits of opting for Ford’s hybrid truck is its onboard generator. Pro Power Onboard means three available outputs to allow you to power various things. These outputs include 2.0kW, 2.4kW, and 7.2kW, so whether you are powering a campsite or some power tools, you should be able to do so.
Unfortunately, Pro Power Onboard with 7.2kW does not come standard. So, if you want this feature, you will have to pay extra. Of course to some, it will likely be worth it. Especially if you are someone who plans to use their hybrid truck at a job site.
How expensive is the 2023 Ford F-150 Hybrid?
If you want a Ford F-150 Hybrid, you must opt for the XL SuperCrew model, which has a starting MSRP of $40,640. To add the 3.5-liter PowerBoost Full Hybrid V6 engine, you will need to pay an additional cost of $4,495. And while that does not make this pickup truck cheap, it might be worth it to some.
The hybrid engine is available on other trims as well. But it is nice that Ford has chosen to offer it to the base model. Even if you are looking for a work truck, you can get a hybrid powertrain.
