Back in 2017, Olympic champion Simone Biles posted on X (Twitter at the time) asking for new car recommendations. Her question got hundreds of responses, including every nameplate from Acura to Ferrari and everything in between: BMW, Chevy, Maserati…you name it, it’s in the comments. One commenter tagged Elon Musk, urging him to give Simone a free Tesla and citing her status as a “national treasure.” Over time, Biles has given fans small glimpses of what’s inside her garage, and they certainly reflect luxury. Here are two cars she ended up with after asking X for opinions.

“Tiff,” a white Range Rover Evoque convertible

In October 2020, Biles posted a picture of her new white Range Rover Evoque convertible. An interesting choice for anyone, really, the Evoque convertible is a rag-topped two-door SUV. Shockingly to some, it’s built with the same four-cylinder inline turbo engine as the Ford Fusion.

In March 2021, Biles had Extreme Offroad & Performance wrap Tiff in a 3M Satin Key West full color change wrap.

Unfortunately, some circles say the Evoque is one of the most unreliable cars in the world. I should know; I have a 2015, and the repairs and maintenance haven’t been cheap (read: timing chain replacement this spring). In the convertible version (which I don’t have), the top has a leaky reputation.

To add insult to injury, in 2017, Doug Demuro called the Evoque convertible “one of the most senseless cars for sale in the United States.” Still, it’s a unique and fun ride for fans who can tolerate the upkeep.

A Mercedes-Benz G-Class

In October 2020, Biles shared a pic of her refueling a matte-black G-Wagon. Of course, the G-Class is a favorite of the rich and famous. It’s difficult to tell which model exactly from the cut-off photo, but the gymnast’s is either an AMG G63 or the standard G550. The 2020 Mercedes-AMG G63 started at over $157,000. Its 4.0L V8 engine touts 577 horsepower and gets an average of 13 mpg city or 15 mpg highway.

Biles has been a fan of G-Wagons for years. Way back in 2014, when she was 17, she posted a photo of herself standing next to one on what was then Twitter.

She captioned the post, “G Wagon! obsessed.”

Biles just completed the 2024 U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Team Trials. After winning the all-around title at trials, Biles will head to her third Olympics as the oldest woman gymnast to make the Olympic team in over 70 years. Biles is 27 years old.
