The 2021 Lincoln Aviator

The 2021 Lincoln Aviator is the kind of SUV that aims to please in far more ways than one. Powered by a 400-hp turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 that comes teamed with a 10-speed automatic transmission, this year’s Aviator can also be had with all-wheel drive.

For a true automotive treat, consider the Lincoln Aviator Black Label. Not only will you be able to choose from a curated collection of interior designer themes, but you’ll enjoy plenty of members-only perks too. From premium maintenance service with Lincoln Pickup & Delivery to access to Lincoln’s exclusive Culinary Collection, the Aviator is nothing short of luxurious.

The 2021 Volvo XC90

Driven by a 250-hp engine and available with all-wheel drive, the 2021 Volvo XC90 is a three-row SUV that offers seating for up to seven passengers. Of course, it has more to offer than a powerful engine and a spacious interior.

Slip behind the wheel of this Scandinavian SUV, and a long list of luxury features will envelop you. Leather upholstery makes for a more than comfortable driving experience, while a premium audio system only adds to this SUV’s appeal.

The Volvo XC90 offers better handling

According to Kelley Blue Book, when comparing the Volvo XC90 and the Lincoln Aviator, it’s the XC90 that offers better handling. The team reported that “Handling is responsive and the ride is mostly smooth; both are improved with the optional air-spring suspension.”

When it came to driving the Lincoln, Kelley Blue Book wasn’t quite as impressed. In their test drive, Kelley Blue Book reported that “Turbo lag is noticeable, and punchier downshifts from the transmission would be appreciated.” The team did add, though, that the Aviator is “a passable impression of a smaller, nimbler vehicle.”

For top-notch safety features, choose the 2021 XC90

The 2021 Volvo XC90 is a remarkably safe SUV too. Standard safety features include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, and a 4-year subscription to Volvo On-Call. Last year’s model was tapped as a Top Safety Pick+ by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety too, which bodes well for this year’s model. The Aviator, on the other hand, was only recognized as a Top Safety Pick.

Which three-row SUV costs less?

You might be thinking that the Volvo XC90 is the more expensive SUV of the two. In all actuality, though, it’s the 2021 Lincoln Aviator that boasts the higher price tag. While the Volvo XC90 will cost you $49,000, this year’s Aviator gets its start at $51,500.

Should you buy a 2021 Volvo XC90?

When choosing between these two SUVs, it’s clear that the 2021 Volvo XC90 is the better pick. It costs less, drives better, and earned itself higher safety ratings than its Lincoln competition.
