But if you’re in the market for a cheaper alternative to the Toyota Corolla? You may want to check out the Hyundai Elantra. It was recently voted the North American Car of the Year and will only have you spending $19,650 on a base model. And if you’d prefer a more lavishly outfitted model? Opt for the range-topping Elantra Limited, which will only have you spending $25,450. 

The Honda Civic is a more powerful and spacious alternative to the Toyota Corolla

The Hyundai Elantra isn’t the only alternative to the Toyota Corolla. For another alternative to this year’s Toyota Corolla, you’re going to want to check out the Honda Civic. Unlike Toyota Corolla, this year’s Civic comes powered by a 158-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The Corolla, on the other hand, comes standard with a 139-hp 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine.

But the Honda Civic isn’t just more powerful than the Toyota Corolla. It’s also a more spacious option than the Corolla. While the Corolla offers up 88.6 cubic-feet of passenger space, the Honda Civic boasts 95 cubic-feet of passenger space. 

For a rugged alternative to the Toyota Corolla, consider the Subaru Impreza

Of course, there’s a chance that the Honda Civic isn’t the right fit for you either. If that’s the case, then you should probably consider the Subaru Impreza. This rugged alternative to the Toyota Corolla comes standard with all-wheel drive. And if you think that you can get a Toyota Corolla with all-wheel drive? Think again. It’s not even an option.
