People have been excited about the new Mazda CX-50, but now they have another Mazda SUV to look forward to. The 2022 Mazda CX-30 was just accidentally leaked, and it’s all people can talk about it. It was caught while Mazda was filming a commercial, and thanks to some covert camera operations, we have a pretty clear picture of what the 2022 Mazda CX-60 will be like.

What do we know about the 2022 Mazda CX-60?

According to CarScoops, the 2022 Mazda CX-60 was seen while Mazda was filming a commercial. The ad involved both the Mazda CX-50 as well as the Mazda CX-50. They say that the 2022 Mazda CX-60 looks more road-worthy than the Mazda CX-50, which has a rugged appeal. The Mazda CX-60 that was filmed was white and somewhat similar to the Mazda CX-5.

CarScoops also notes that “arch trims are round, too, not tough-looking square jobs like on the CX-50, and the metalworks of the rear fenders is far less muscular. But the CX-60’s tall sides and shallow glasshouse gives it a tough vibe, nonetheless.”

What do we know about the 2022 Mazda CX-60 price?

Since the 2022 Mazda CX-60 hasn’t been revealed yet, we don’t have a price. Yet with the CX-50 likely starting somewhere around $28,000, it’s possible that the Mazda CX-60 will be a little big pricier. The 2022 CX-60 is part of Mazda’s new collection os SUVs coming out soon. In addition to the Mazda CX-60, there’s the CX-50 and 2022 Mazda CX-70. There’s even a CX-90, which is the largest of the bunch.

So little is known about the Mazda CX-60 that even the videos showing the CX-60 have mostly been deleted from the internet.

The 2023 Mazda CX-50 may be similar, but more rugged

The 2023 Mazda CX-60 will likely be somewhat bigger than the Mazda CX-50, but it’s possible that there will be some similarities between the two SUVs. The Mazda CX-50 is similarly designed to the CX-5, though it will be larger. It’s set to be competitive with other SUVs like the Subaru Outback and Forester. It comes with all-wheel drive and a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. The Mazda CX-50’s engine makes 187 hp and 186 lb-ft of torque. There is also a turbo engine that makes 227 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. Both of these engines are matched to a six speed transmission.

The Mazda CX-50 interior is plain but comfortable, and has everything you’d need. Because the CX-50 is also new, there are no EPA-estimates yet. However, it’s possible that the CX-50 will have similar specs to the CX-5, and in turn the CX-60 may be somewhat akin to that. This engine gets 26 mpg combined.

We’re going to have to wait and see what the Mazda CX-60 includes. Will it be a more family-friendly, road-worthy version of the Mazda CX-50? Perhaps. While we don’t necessarily know the 2022 Mazda CX-60 price or any of its specifics, we can be hopeful that it will be as solid as the rest of the Mazdas. In addition, with the new lineup of Mazda SUVs, there should be some interesting options coming from Mazda in the next few years.
