Jeep has a lot of great SUVs to offer customers right now, and soon, Jeep will have even more. Jeep has recently revived the Grand Wagoneer, and brand-new model years of the full-size SUV will be returning to dealerships soon.

That said, many of the 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer’s features probably won’t actually be available for customers to buy and use.

A look at the 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer’s best features

Jeep wanted to make a splash when it showcased the concept version of its revival of the Grand Wagoneer, and Jeep did that by showing off an SUV with a ton of features. According to MotorTrend, this Grand Wagoneer concept looks and feels like a high-end luxury SUV. Like many luxury cars, the Grand Wagoneer concept uses some high-quality materials on its interior and exterior.

Additionally, there’s a ton of digital displays inside the Grand Wagoneer concept. MotorTrend wrote that the Grand Wagoneer concept had a 12.3-inch touch screen display as well as a 12.1-inch digital gauge cluster display. On top of that, the Grand Wagoneer concept has a glass roof that has a map of Detroit sketched onto it. 

And of course, since the Grand Wagoneer is a full-size SUV, it also has plenty of space. MotorTrend wrote that it had a lot of cargo room as well as head and legroom in its rear seats. Jeep isn’t lagging behind the times either, and MotorTrend said that the Grand Wagoneer concept also has a hybrid option. 

Many features won’t make it into production however

While those features all sound great, that’s pretty much the point. Concept cars exist to show off what’s possible rather than what’s probable. Like MotorTrend said, when engineers and designers are building a concept car, one of their goals is to make the car look good. This makes a lot of sense, since a good-looking car is going to attract more customers than a boring one. 

It’s not always about looks, either. Concept cars often also have specs that won’t make it into production. Sometimes a concept car will be fitted with a powerful engine that’s just not feasible for a car that’s going to be sold to customers.

This is especially true in the high-end car market. There are many extremely fast concept cars that have a lot of experimental features, but they almost always never make it into production.

Unsurprisingly, this is what’s happening with the Grand Wagoneer concept. Like MotorTrend wrote, many of the features that were shown probably won’t make it to production for one reason or another.

The features that probably won’t be on the Jeep Grand Wagoneer

Obviously, since Jeep is so far away from shipping the Grand Wagoneer, most of these cut features are speculation. That said, there are a few features that will likely be cut, according to MotorTrend.

For example, that map of Detroit seems kind of cool, but Jeep will more than likely cut that feature when it starts mass production. There’s also a little display on top of the Grand Wagoneer’s charging port, which while useful, probably will get cut too.

Additionally, MotorTrend said that the Grand Wagoneer concept used 24-inch wheels, but the production version will probably use smaller wheels. Smaller wheels are better for ride quality, according to MotorTrend, while larger wheels just look cooler. Furthermore, the Grand Wagoneer concept had some elaborate wheel inserts that will probably be simplified on the production model. 

The Grand Wagoneer concept also uses high-quality wood for its roof rack, and MotorTrend said that Jeep will probably replace it with something cheaper later on. And finally, the Grand Wagoneer concept has a premium McIntosh audio system. McIntosh hasn’t made premium audio systems for cars in a while, so MotorTrend thinks that Jeep will go with a more traditional brand down the road.
