If you don’t know about Mansory, you’ve led a sheltered life, which in this case is a good thing. It is a German tuner that makes fast Mercedes faster. It also tries its hand at customization. This AMG G63 is typical of its efforts, and the results speak for themselves. It packs almost 900 hp, which is the good part. And it has a unique look only the folks at Mansory could love if anyone there is of that mindset. 

This Mercedes creation was built to commemorate its Dubai showroom grand opening. With outrageous cars a staple of the UAE, this should find a happy buyer. At least, that’s what Mansory is hoping. 

Is the inside of this Mansory Mercedes AMG like the outside?

If you are put off by the outside, Ferrari felt the same about Mansory’s 488 GTB body kits. It sued Mansory to stop making them and won. So you don’t want to see the cabin. Or maybe you do? Sort of like watching a train wreck. And if you do want to look, we advise doing so with sunglasses on, because it is bright. 

But let’s start outside first. Mansory created the scoop upon vent on top of scoop forged carbon fiber hood. Other carbon custom pieces include the valance and other moldings highlighting still more scoops and vents. Especially in the rear, it’s festooned with chunky vents, as well as the carbon tire cover. 

Why does this Mansory Mercedes AMG have so many scoops and vents?

Oh, and let’s not forget the forged carbon fiber spoiler in the back and accessory light housing on the roof. If excess is your thing, then you can wallow in this mess of excess with each drive to the corner Stop and Go. And while a solid black body would help to visually blend in the flurry of carbon fiber bits, Mansory chose this unusual purple to black fade. 

To that end, it also chose to abruptly transition the paint blend right in the middle of the front doors. In this way, the G-Wagen is visually broken in two. That’s not the end of the world, but raises the question is this blend really necessary, and if so, why not transition the fade through the entire side? 

We’re surprised Mansory didn’t do something horrible to the wheels. Instead, they’re painted a simple gloss black. Also festooned around the body are custom badges combining the Mansory logo with an outline of the UAE. These are also a graphic jumble of different elements not tied together. But they are custom. 

The cabin can’t be worse than the exterior, can it?

Inside, it is as jaw-dropping as the outside. Looking like something a Los Angeles Lakers fan would love, it is a combo of bright yellow and lavender leather upholstery draped over every surface. The non-matching seats are because Mansory. 

More unique Mansory carbon fiber bits are scattershot throughout the cabin, further jarring your brain. As if the diamond pattern seats weren’t enough, a simple competition strip running the length of the seat was added. At least all four of the stripes are centered on the seats. 

Now to the good part. The 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 spins out 887 hp and 885 lb-ft of torque. That’s enough to make you forget what you’re in. And maybe that’s the point?
