Spice Your 2023 Toyota Tacoma up With 2 New Packages
Unfortunately, the new Toyota Tacoma isn’t here yet. But that doesn’t mean the 2023 Toyota Tacoma doesn’t have fresh updates. There are two new Tacoma appearance packages that really jazz things up.
2023 Toyota Tacoma: What’s new?
Not much is new for the 2023 Toyota Tacoma. If you have been waiting for the next generation to emerge, it looks like you have more time to kill. Hopefully, the 2024 Tacoma will feature an exterior and interior redesign.
Until then, at least we can take a look at two new Tacoma appearance packages. There is the SX Package and the Chrome Package. Both options go in totally different directions to provide a unique look.
Along with the new packages, the Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro gains a new Solar Octane exclusive color. Plus, the Smart Key Operation function is available with the V6–powered SR5 models. The changes will help the Tacoma remain the best-selling midsize truck for the 17th year.
What comes with the Tacoma SX Package?
The 2023 Toyota Tacoma SX is now only available with the V6-powered SR5 models with the access or double cab. Previously, this package was available with the entry-level SR trim, but it still provides affordable upgrades.
With the SX package, you get black over-fenders, 16-inch black wheels, black trim, and black badging. It feels like the Nightshade package that’s available with the Toyota 4Runner and Sequioa.
It also includes black mirrors, black lug nuts, and a unique bed graphic. The truck has a more confident and rugged stance. Pricing for the SX package hasn’t been released, but it costs about $800 to add to the 2022 models.
What comes with the Tacoma Chrome package?
The 2023 Toyota Tacoma Chrome Package shines in another direction. Literally, it pops against the blacked-out look.
Finally, we have another option aside from going dark and bronze wheels. We have nothing against blacked-out trucks or bronze wheels. They’re just increasingly common.
Anyways, the Chrome Package is available with the SR5 trim with a 5-foot bed, V6 engine, and either 2WD or 4WD. Pricing for this package hasn’t been released.
The Chrome Package adds 18-inch polished alloy wheels and chrome-finished door handles. According to Pickup Truck Talk, the ‘Tacoma’ insert, exhaust tip, and tailgate inserts are each chrome as well.
A leather-wrapped shift knob is the only change inside the cabin. Hopefully, the pricing will be released soon. The new models are expected to arrive by the end of the summer.
We will update you as soon as we learn how much the 2023 Toyota Tacoma costs. The 2022 Tacoma starts at $27,150 before the destination fee, and dealership markups have been added. We wouldn’t be surprised if the price increases by a few hundred bucks.
Some folks are disappointed that the Tacoma didn’t receive any significant updates after 17 years. But the next-generation Tacoma is coming. Plus, it’s still the best-selling truck.
The Tacoma is reliable and has an excellent resale value, so we think it will be fine for another year. We can’t wait to see the new packages in person.
