Stellantis Teases Another Small Jeep Truck Concept
Fans have been clear about what they want. When it comes to Jeep, the only truck in the lineup is the Jeep Gladiator, but it’s not doing so hot at the moment. Perhaps Stellantis is finally listening to desires about another Jeep truck as new teasers emerge.
A small Jeep truck concept could be at the Easter Safari
The beloved Easter Jeep Safari is almost here. It will take place in Moab, Utah between March 23 and 31, 2024 for nine days of off-roading fun.
During this event, Jeep provides access to various concepts to gauge how audiences react. If fans respond well then the concepts could make it into production.
But I’m growing tired of Jeep truck concepts every year. Last year there was the Bob, and single-cab Jeep trucks have been displayed for years.
Stellantis is back at it again, by teasing another truck. One teaser shows a bright orange truck on a lift. It’s a single-cab truck with a shorter bed and has a massive suspension lift.
It might be a dessert racing concept and there’s a rollbar behind the cab, spotlights where the mirrors usually go, a massive “EVO’ skidplate, and shocks with extended travel capabilities. Skulls with pistons adorn the fenders.
Another teaser is made to look like a vintage ad from 1945. You can see ‘Willys’ on the hood of a green Jeep model that could be a truck or an SUV.
It pays homage to original ads by being called the mission-capable and a revolutionary vehicle that can be used for 1,000 jobs. You can use it as a tractor, a truck, a runabout, or to power mobile devices.
You can’t use a Wrangler as a truck, so could this finally be a sneak peek of the Gladiator 4xe or a smaller hybrid truck? A truck can arguably do more jobs than an SUV.
The Jeep Gladiator 4xe has been pushed back a few years due to supply chain shortages, rising inflation, and the Coronavirus pandemic in 2020.
Perhaps this provided time for Stellantis to reflect and consider what people want, which is a smaller, more fuel-efficient vehicle.
The Gladiator dropped its diesel engine, leaving the standard 3.6-liter V6 engine with 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque as the sole option.
Sadly, I will have to wait for the Easter Jeep Safari to arrive to learn more. But, I hope Stellantis isn’t just playing with my truck emotions again.
