You won’t have to sacrifice features, either. Even at this price point, you can get a pickup that’s as capable as it is spacious. Not to mention, 2013 models benefited from available features like Xenon headlights, hill descent control, and the MyFord Touch infotainment system.
The 2014 F-150 also makes for a good option. It’s available with several different engines, including a 302-hp 3.7-liter V6 and a 411-hp 6.2-liter V8. It’s also available with a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine.
It also earned a better overall reliability rating than the 2013 F-150. While the 2013 model earned a two out of five reliability rating, the 2014 F-150 was given an 83 out of 100 for its reliability score by J.D.Power. The 2013 model got an 80 out of 100.
For the latest in safety and tech-savvy features, choose a 2015 – 2018 Ford F-150
Hoping for a used F-150 that’s just a tad bit newer? You may want to check out the 2015 model. J.D.Power gave it high ratings, including a ‘Best’ rating for its driving experience and resale value.
The 2015 Ford F-150 marked the first generation of F-150 models with aluminum bodies too. Not only that, but the 2015 F-150 also benefited from several new safety features, including adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, a 360-degree camera, and blind-spot monitoring.
But for features like the SYNC 3 system and Pro Trailer Backup Assist? You’re going to want to seek out a 2016 or newer Ford F-150.
However, keep in mind that if tech-savvy features are what you’re after, Ford didn’t introduce Apple CarPlay or Android Auto until 2017. The 2018 Ford F-150 also added a slew of tech-savvy features, including a Wi-Fi hotspot.

Of course, not everyone is after the latest and greatest in features. If you’re in the market for a used pickup that’s able to tow a considerable amount of weight, then go with the powerful 2019 Ford F-150.
Unlike previous models, the 2019 model is able to tow up to 13,200 lbs when properly equipped. It also earned some pretty high ratings from J.D. Power. Unfortunately, this used F-150 could cost you a pretty penny.
