Stolen $270,000 Lamborghini Huracán Spyder Crashes into a McDonal’s
Driving a supercar such as a Lamborghini Huracán Spyder in a crowded place like New York City is bound to lead to some interesting situations. That’s exactly what happened to one Lamborghini owner as he got sideswiped by two men riding a moped.
According to The New York Post, the men on the moped opted to stop and talk to the supercar owner. After a quick back and forth, the men became angered and decided to steal the Italian supercar. However, as you might imagine, things didn’t exactly go as planned.
This $270,000 Lamborghini Huracán got crashed twice
This crashed Lamborghini Huracán Spyder story begins as the owner of the supercar made his way through New York City. After two men in a moped crashed into his supercar, the three of them stopped to assess the damage. According to The New York Post, the moped sideswiped the Lamborghini, destroying its mirror. Upon noticing this, the two men decided to offer the supercar owner $100 for the broken part. However, as The New York Post states, the mirror alone is worth around $2,400.
At this point, the Lamborghini Huracán Spyder owner decided he wanted to involve the local police to file a report. This is crucial when dealing with insurance companies. However, the two men on the moped reportedly responded to this idea with violence. According to the New York Post, the pair attacked the supercar owner.
As the owner tried to defend himself, one of the men jumped into the crashed supercar and locked the doors.
The car thieves struggled to get the car into gear
If you’ve never driven a supercar like the Lamborghini Huracán Spyder, engaging its controls can be quite challenging. That’s exactly what happened to the car thief in the locked exotic. According to The New York Post, the man struggled for several minutes before successfully getting the car into gear. During this time, The New York Post reports that the second man got on the crashed moped and fled the scene.
Once the thief got the Lamborghini Huracán Spyder moving, it vanished into the city. The local police quickly responded to this incident, even sending out a helicopter to look for the stolen car. As you might imagine, a 600-hp exotic in the hands of a novice driver can create a serious risk for public safety. Unfortunately, the police weren’t able to keep up.

Several hours later, the Lamborghini Huracán Spyder reportedly turned up crashed outside of a McDonald’s. As you’d expect, the thief reportedly lost control of the car. In fact, despite taking four hours to crash the car, the thief only went 10 miles away from the spot from which the car was stolen.
However, once the police caught up with the car, the thief was gone. In fact, as of writing, it seems the car thief is still on the run. Regardless, this supercar is, unfortunately, totaled.
