With thieves continuously updating their tech, you could easily wake up to find that your six-figure Lamborghini has been stolen. That’s exactly what occurred to a couple of owners in Houston, Texas.

According to a report by ABC 13, local police officers obtained a warrant to search a suspicious warehouse. Upon looking inside, they found those aforementioned exotics along with many others. Additionally, the thieves left behind all of the tools they used to steal them in the first place.

How much do a Lamborghini Huracan and Urus cost?

Before we dive into this latest stolen Lamborghini Urus and Huracan story, it is worth noting how much these rare machines cost. The Urus, for example, has a base price of $218,000. However, if you go crazy with optional extras, that number could easily climb up to $300,000. The two-door supercar, on the other hand, has a slightly lower base price at $208,571. However, like the SUV, it can also carry a healthy premium with options.

According to ABC 13, the thieves who originally stole these rare machines decided to take them apart. Since optional extras such as exterior modifications don’t often carry individual serial numbers, they’re almost impossible to link to a stolen car. As a result, police officers found that some of these exotics weren’t exactly complete.

Speaking of exotics, the Lamborghini Urus and Huracan weren’t the only ones found in this Houston warehouse. In fact, police officers reportedly found a small collection of stolen supercars. Unfortunately, the report doesn’t cover what any of the other vehicles were.

However, one of the most peculiar elements of this situation is the fact that none of the cars had noticeable marking demonstrating they were stolen. This simply means that there weren’t any visible signs of forced entry. This is because modern-day car thieves have a variety of digital tools available to them.

As you might expect, the Lamborghini Urus and Huracan found themselves in the middle of a car-stealing ring. The benefit of raiding this particular warehouse is that police found all of the latest tools utilized by these car thieves. Unfortunately, officers haven’t arrested anyone in connection yet.

This largely comes down to the types of key fobs used in new vehicles. Additionally, the existence of keyless entry also makes this situation easier for thieves.

In short, a car thief has to make a copy of your key at some point without you noticing. This could be while you’re out at about with the key in your pocket. Additionally, thieves can also make copies if you leave your keys too close to your front door. Once they have that copy, they have to start up your car and drive away.
