Subaru Just Dropped the 2024 Crosstrek, and It Looks Great
The Subaru Crosstrek was first introduced back in 2012, and it is finally entering its third generation. Although it’s not expected to arrive in the States until a later date, there have still been some details revealed by the brand. And it seems like Subaru went to a lot of work to modernize its crossover.
What’s new for the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek?
In terms of what’s new, the Crosstrek SUV gets a redesigned exterior and an array of new interior features. It is set to get a larger touchscreen, and the driver assist features have been improved. Although at first, the design changes seem subtle, Subaru has made some legitimate updates. These include slimmer headlights along with a larger front grille.
Much like the Subaru WRX, it looks like the Crosstrek now has even more black cladding along the wheels. This does help the Crosstrek look a little bit more aggressive. Now, there is some potentially disappointing news for this crossover. Although it will still come with all-wheel drive, Subaru has dropped the manual transmission in Japan. That means it’s fairly possible that you will no longer be able to shift your own gears in the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek.
How much will the 2024 Crosstrek cost?
According to Car and Driver, this Subaru crossover will likely have a starting price of around $24,000. This will make it slightly more expensive than the outgoing model. But considering it’s an entirely new generation, that does make sense.
It’s still unclear when the 2024 Crosstrek will arrive in the U.S., but when it does, it should still be popular among those who lead an active lifestyle. It comes standard with AWD and has ample ground clearance. Plus, there is a thriving community around this vehicle. People are constantly modding the Crosstrek to make it more capable. Plus, there’s something cool about a lifted Subaru Crosstrek.
Should you buy a new Subaru?
Subaru poises an interesting value proposition. Most models come with standard AWD and a variety of standard safety features. Subaru has also garnered a reputation for having reliable vehicles that last a long time. Even if that is not necessarily true.
When it comes to the Crosstrek, this Subaru competes with things like the Jeep Renegade and Mazda CX-30. And, it does do a fairly good job of doing so.
When is the new Subaru Crosstrek coming out?
Subaru has just announced the release of the 2024 Crosstrek. At first, it will arrive in Japan with a set release date at some point in 2023. After that, it should make its way to the States. This Subaru marks the third generation of the Crosstrek.
The second-gen Crosstrek first went on sale in 2017. So, it is about time that this vehicle received a major update. There will likely still be a hybrid model available for those who want more efficiency. But, it is still unclear if we will get a manual transmission. And that might mark the death of one of the few vehicles you can still buy new with a standard transmission.
