Toyota has had some pretty fun colors in the past. Despite being a Japanese car company that is typically known for being color conservative, we’ve seen through the years that sometimes Toyota has a colorful ace up its sleeve. Past Prius models and the discontinued FJ Cruiser, for example, have had some pretty fun colors.

Some sources like Torque News and iTech Post wonder if the new TRD Pro may have been recently revealed by @4runnersnacks on Instagram. The page posted so many colors though. From a bright sunny yellow to burnt orange to a dark brown. There’s teal, purple, and citrus green. Which color is it going to be?

What is the 2022 TRD Pro color?

We still don’t know. At the time of this writing, we are not privy to what color Toyota will reveal for the 2022 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro. We know that last year it was announced in the summertime, and that is a bit of a trend that could repeat itself this year. However, we have no clue what the color will be.

The 2021 TRD Pro color came from the RAV4. It had already proven to have success in terms of unit sales. Now, some are reporting waiting lists for the Toyota Tundra, 4Runner, Sequoia, and Tacoma TRD Pro.

So will the next color for the 2022 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro be a flop and increase demand for the Lunar Rock version? Or will it be cool enough for people to move on from fantasizing about owning a Lunar Rock TRD Pro unit and begin longing for the new color instead? Only time will tell, but summer is coming.

When will Toyota reveal the new TRD Pro color?

As we typically expect from Toyota, things are under wraps. We definitely won’t have any definitive answers for what the 2022 TRD Pro color is until the actual reveal. But when will Toyota reveal this to the public?

Last year, Toyota announced the new color in the beginning of July. Is that the time frame we should expect this year? Hopefully.

As with last year’s addition of some retuning and new wheels on the 4Runner, we could expect to see Toyota reveal some new tweaks to the lineup as well. Plus, Toyota often releases new editions like last year’s Trail Special Edition units we saw on models like the 4Runner and Tacoma.

What’s in store for the 2022 Toyota Tacoma?

We actually may see more extras this year with the 2022 Toyota Tundra recently announced and just around the corner. In fact, the 2022 TRD Pro color may be revealed when Toyota unveils the 2022 Toyota Tundra. As with the existing TRD Pro lineup, each model year gets a TRD Pro color that carries across the Tundra, Sequoia, 4Runner, and Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro.

While we don’t know what’s in store for any of these models in 2022, we do know that there’s a good chance anything new for the 2022 Toyota Tundra may carry over to other models like the Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro in the future.

While some think that these speculations in terms of the new TRD Pro color are as good as leaks, we aren’t so sure. Sure, it’s fun to dream about black cherry, brick red, or even a new white for the new TRD Pro models, there’s really no telling what we’ll get. It’s all a guessing game at this point.
