The Fiat 500 is a subcompact city car (available as a coupe hatchback or cabriolet) produced and sold by the Italian automaker Fiat, a subsidiary of Stellantis (formerly Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA)). An iconic car of automotive history, the Fiat 500 design and name birthed a lineup of models and spin-offs, including the 500 Abarth performance model, the 500C convertible, the 500e electric vehicle, the 500L subcompact minivan, and the 500X subcompact SUV.
The original Fiat 500 (Nuova 500) went into production in 1957. It featured suicide doors and just 13 horsepower. The 500 was constantly updated and changed during its original production run and sold almost 4 million units before it was discontinued in 1975. Decades later, the Fiat 500 nameplate was reintroduced in 2007 with a modern design.
The Fiat 500 was discontinued in the U.S. after its 2019 model year but continues to sell overseas, now with an all-new EV model available. Its competition was and continues to be the Ford Fiesta, the Honda Fit, the Mini Cooper, the Volkswagen Beetle, and the smart brand of vehicles.

- Cons: As one can guess by looks, the 500 is small, leading to cramped seating space. Additionally, its cabin is furnished with low-quality materials that don’t pair well with its Italian exterior.
