The Lexus ES is a midsize executive car/luxury sedan model produced and sold by the Lexus luxury vehicle division of Toyota. Within the Lexus vehicle catalog’s sedan lineup, the ES is sized and priced between the Lexus IS compact executive car and the Lexus LS full-size luxury sedan.
The Lexus ES (Executive Sedan/Elegant Sedan) was first released in 1989 and functioned as the luxury counterpart to first the Toyota Camry and, currently the Toyota Avalon. The ES debuted at the 1989 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan, introducing the all-new Lexus division from Toyota. Now in its seventh generation, the Lexus ES is also available as a hybrid model and an F Sport performance variant. It has been the best-selling Lexus sedan for over 15 years.
Frequent executive car and luxury sedan competitors of the Lexus ES include the Acura TLX, the Audi A6, the Genesis G80, the Infiniti Q50, the Jaguar XF, and the Volvo S60.

- Cons: The ES isn’t particularly engaging to drive with mediocre (for a luxury car) acceleration from its baseline engine. Additionally, its rear seating is locked in place, limiting cargo capacity.
