Ranger
The Ford Ranger is a light pickup truck model produced and sold by the Ford Motor Company. It is priced and sized between the Ford Maverick pickup truck and the Ford F-150 full-size pickup truck from the F-Series.
The Ford Ranger was first produced in 1982 for the 1983 model year. It was a successor to the two-door Ford Courier truck, which was a rebadged Mazda Proceed. The Ranger was originally sold as a compact pickup truck from 1982 to 2011 and then was discontinued. In 2018, Ford brought the Ranger nameplate back in a larger light truck build. A couple of years later, the new Maverick arrived to fill the void the old Ranger left behind.
The new and current fourth generation of the Ford Ranger is produced in America from the state of Michigan. It faces competition from other small trucks models like the Chevy Colorado, the Nissan Frontier, and the Toyota Tacoma.
