Toyota Racing Development (TRD) is the automotive tuning shop and racing division for Toyota and Lexus (and formerly Scion) vehicles. TRD produces performance and off-road modifications, auto parts, and accessory packs for street-legal Toyota vehicles. Additionally, the division supports Toyota’s racing efforts and events worldwide.
For the tuning shop side of Toyota Racing Development, TRD provides supercharged engines and a variety of performance or off-road focused auto parts (including mufflers, exhausts, brake kits, suspensions, and wheels). Primarily, TRD’s efforts on street-legal models are focused on the brand’s lineup of trucks and SUVs, but several cars are available for TRD modifications, including the Corolla, Camry, and Avalon.
For the racing division side of Toyota Racing Development, TRD has branches in Japan (TRD Japan) and the U.S. (TRD USA). TRD Japan competes in the All-Japan Formula Three Championship Series, the Super GT Series, and the Netz Cup races, among others. TRD USA competes in Formula Drift, IMSA GT Daytona, and NASCAR, among others.
