The Koenigsegg Gemera is a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) hypercar model produced and sold by the Swedish high-performance automaker Koenigsegg. Seating up to four passengers and including eight cupholders in its cabin, the Gemera is considered the “family car” of the Koenigsegg brand, as odd as that moniker sounds for a supercar.
The Koenigsegg Gemera was intended to debut at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland. However, after the event was canceled due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the Gemera was unveiled during an online broadcast. It noted specs include a top speed of 249 mph, a 0 to 60 mph speed of fewer than 2 seconds, an EV mode range of 31 miles.
Due to its excess of power and features (not to mention its exorbitant price), it’s difficult to find a worthy competitor to the Koenigsegg Gemera hypercar model. Still, hopeful rivals include the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport, the McLaren Senna, and the Pagani Huayra.

Pros: The Koenigsegg Gemera plug-in hybrid mega grand tourer seats up to four, making it far more practical than most hypercars. Additionally, it doesn’t lack performance and high-tech features despite moves to make it more family-friendly.
Cons: As a hypercar that costs nearly $2 million, how practical and family-friendly can the Gemera really be?
