The Mercedes-Benz GLB is a luxury compact SUV model produced and sold by Mercedes-Benz, a subsidiary of the Daimler AG multinational automotive corporation. Within the Mercedes-Benz vehicle catalog of SUV models, the GLB is sized and priced above the Mercedes-Benz GLA luxury subcompact SUV and below the Mercedes-Benz GLC luxury compact SUV.
The Mercedes-Benz GLB model is one of the automaker’s newest nameplates. It first premiered at the 2019 Shanghai Auto Show as a concept car before its production model was revealed a few months later in Park City, Utah. Before the end of the year, it went on sale in Mexico for the 2020 model year, followed by its release in other markets over the next several months.
As a compact luxury SUV with available three-row seating, the most applicable competitors of the Mercedes-Benz GLB are the Land Rover Discovery Sport and the Mazda CX-9.
