The Mercedes-Benz GLC is a luxury compact SUV model produced and sold by Mercedes-Benz, a subsidiary of the Daimler AG multinational automotive corporation. Within the Mercedes-Benz vehicle catalog of SUV models, the GLC is sized and priced above the Mercedes-Benz GLB luxury compact SUV and below the Mercedes-Benz GLE luxury midsize SUV.
The Mercedes-Benz GLC was introduced in 2015 as the replacement for the outgoing GLK-Class and as an SUV version/equivalent of the C-Class sedan. However, the GLC is also available as a coupe variant with a sloping roof design for its rear that debuted at the 2019 New York International Auto Show alongside a facelifted version of the SUV’s first generation.
In addition to its available coupe design, the Mercedes-Benz GLC is also offered with 4Matic all-wheel drive, as an AMG performance-focused model, and as a hybrid option exclusive to overseas markets. The rivals of the GLC in the American automotive market include the Audi Q5, the BMW X3, the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, the Lincoln Corsair, and the Volvo XC60.
