ilx
The Acura ILX is a subcompact executive car/luxury sports sedan model produced and sold by the Honda Motor Company through the luxury Acura marque. Currently the smallest and most affordable model offered by the Acura brand, the ILX is a successor to the original Acura Integra/RSX and is sized and priced below the Acura TLX compact executive car/luxury sports sedan.
The Acura ILX started as a concept vehicle that debuted at the 2012 North American International Auto Show. Shortly after, a production version was presented at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show. Based on the ninth generation of the Honda Civic (2011-2017), the ILX is still in its first generation and has only received facelifts and technology updates in place of redesigns.
Primarily marketed and surviving due to its low entry-level price for a luxury car, the top competitors and rival vehicles of the Acura ILX subcompact luxury sedan include the Audi A3, the BMW 2-Series, the Mazda 3, and the Mercedes-Benz A-Class.
