Joe Gibbs Racing
A powerhouse racing organization founded in 1991, Joe Gibbs Racing was founded by former NFL head coach Joe Gibbs. The team patriarch has racked up numerous accolades throughout his two-sport career and remains the only person who has won both a Super Bowl and a NASCAR Cup Series Championship, as well as the lone figure inducted into both the Pro Football and the NASCAR Halls of Fame.
The team made its Cup Series debut at the 1992 Daytona 500 and now competes in all major circuits under the NASCAR banner.
Joe Gibbs Racing fields four full-time Cup Series cars: the No. 11 Toyota Camry driven by Denny Hamlin, the No. 19 Camry driven by Martin Truex Jr., the No. 20 Camry driven by Christopher Bell, and the No. 54 Camry driven by Ty Gibbs, the grandson of the organization’s founder.
JGR also fields three full-time entries in the Xfinity Series, highlighted by the No. 18 Toyota Supra driven by Sammy Smith and the No. 20 Supra driven by John Hunter Nemechek. The No. 19 Supra also competes under the banner, though multiple drivers spend time behind the wheel.
Gibbs’ organization has won nine total drivers’ championships, including five in the Cup Series, and has won over 400 races between the three circuits.
