Who knew HGTV stars were experts of anything other than their area of home improvement? Tarek El Moussa, star of HGTV’s Flip or Flop, has a lot to say about the cars in his garage. And while he’s got some really uniquely customized ones, his favorite vehicle to drive around is his 2014 GMC Sierra Denali. In fact, he gives it a perfect 10/10 rating. What does El Moussa find so special about it? Let’s take a look.

First of all, who is Tarek El Moussa?

Before becoming an HGTV star, El Moussa was a real estate agent in Orange County, CA. He specialized in selling multi-million dollar mansions until the housing bubble burst. After that, he took an interest in flipping houses. He would buy a distressed property in a desirable location, renovate it enough to make it more livable than it previously was, and sell it for a profit.

Recently renewed for its ninth season, Flip or Flop is a show starring El Moussa and his ex-wife, Christina Anstead. Together, the unlikely duo find, purchase, renovate, and re-sell distressed properties. Showing off their real estate and interior design prowess, the show aims to flip properties with the goal of turning a profit.

Why does Tarek El Moussa love his Sierra Denali?

Perhaps it’s not a surprise that someone who has made his living doing home renovations uses a truck as their daily driver. El Moussa’s everyday ride is his lifted 2014 GMC Sierra Denali. In a celebrity feature from Motor Trend, he says that he likes trucks as an everyday vehicle mainly because of its storage space. When you’re hauling equipment, it makes sense to need a truck bed more often than not.

Additionally, El Moussa says that he loves the interior. It has everything he needs, from mostly up-to-date technology to comfort and style. “It’s just a really, really beautiful truck.” And because it’s lifted, El Moussa even makes sure to take it off-roading when he has the time. He told Motor Trend that this 2014 truck is the longest he’s ever owned a vehicle. If that’s not a compliment, we don’t know what is!

The Denali is GMC’s finest trim package for the Sierra. The Sierra Denali is known for its luxurious interior, with detailed touches and extensive storage space. It’s spacious but not overly so, and has all of the top-of-the-line technology meant to make the driver’s life a little easier on the road.

And while it’s definitely something that will keep you comfortable, it’s powerful enough to hold its own while off-roading. We can see why El Moussa wouldn’t want to trade this one in any time soon.

El Moussa’s garage is eclectic

On top of his Sierra Denali, El Moussa has a garage full of other, more diverse, vehicles. One of his favorites is his 2011 Lamborghini Gallardo, saying that he loves everything about it except the outdated tech. Because of that, he plans to buy a new Lamborghini soon. Clearly a fan of performance cars, El Moussa recently bought his girlfriend, Heather Rae Young, a Ferrari Portofino for her birthday. That’s a birthday present for the ages.

Another unique ride El Moussa uses frequently, especially while filming, is his decked-out 2014 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. His Sprinter is completely trimmed out into what’s basically a custom limousine. El Moussa had it fitted with two 50-inch TVs, a full bar with a refrigerator, captains chairs, and a plethora of iPads for entertainment. And while he certainly finds it useful to have on set, El Moussa also says that he frequently uses it for dates. Can’t blame him.
