Taylor Swift Has a Thing For German Cars
Taylor Swift has a quality-over-quantity approach to car collecting. Rather than stocking her collection with double-digit numbers, she has collected noteworthy segment champs like the Ferrari 458. However, at least four of her vehicles hail from tenured German car marques like Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi. Check out a few of Swift’s Lieblingsautos.
Taylor Swift’s collection skews German
Despite some of her flashier rides, like a Ferrari 458 Italia and a now-donated pink Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Taylor Swift likes a German car. She has at least four, including a Porsche 911 Turbo and a Mercedes-Benz van.
Make and model | Average used value |
---|---|
Audi R8 | $99,138 |
Porsche 911 Turbo | $88,533 |
Mercedes-Benz Maybach S-Class | $134,433 |
Mercedes-Benz Viano | $63,645 |
While a Mercedes-Benz Viano might seem an odd choice for a superstar with a net worth of over a billion dollars, it’s not that difficult to believe. The Viano, like the Sprinter, is a blank canvas for high-dollar commissions. While the Viano is more of an MPV than a Class B motorhome, it’s a less-than-conspicuous means for the star to slip between engagements undetected.
The same can be said of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class; it’s the epitome of subtle luxury and a celebrated pioneer of technology we now take for granted. However, Taylor Swift’s S-Class is a Maybach S650. If you know anything about Maybachs, they take a posh Merc and add outrageous opulence. In fact, depending on the generation, a Maybach S-Class could be worth $134,433 or more, per Classic.com.
We can’t fault her for her choices
Taylor Swift’s choices in Mercedes-Benz models are undoubtedly posh and comfortable. However, her other German cars are bleeding-edge performance models. Specifically, Swift owns an Audi R8 and a Porsche 911 Turbo. The early R8s share architecture with the now-discontinued Lamborghini Gallardo. Enough said.
Still, her 997-generation Porsche 911 Turbo is a testament to Zuffenhausen’s best builds. With a musical flat six-cylinder mill at the rear, the 911 Turbo is a full-spectrum driving experience. Hats off to Swift for that pick.
