The Tesla Cybertruck Jumps the Gun by Claiming to Outsell the Ford Lightning
Whoa, slow your role. There could be some false truck claims out there, but media outlets are running wild with the Tesla Cybertruck. Don’t believe the posts about the Cybertruck outselling the Ford F-150 Lightning, yet.
Is the Tesla Cybertruck beating the Ford F-150 Lightning?
Maybe, There are many claims from Twitter or X suggesting the Tesla Cybertruck is outselling the Ford F-150 Lightning. But the Cybertruck can’t exactly be crowned as the best-selling electric truck in America yet.
There aren’t any numbers to back up the facts. Unfortunately, Tesla doesn’t post its sales figures as often as other automakers do.
Also, Tesla could be leading us on again. Elon Musk is known for making false claims, like shatterproof windows, and 500-mile ranges, and calling vehicles ready for the apocalypse.
According to Good Car Bad Car, the Cybertruck sold 2,597 models in April, 2,701 models in May, and 2,701 trucks in June. That’s a total of 7,999. There’s no information about earlier months in the year or for 2023.
The F-150 Lightning sold 2,090 trucks in April, 3,260 models in May, and 2,552 units in June. That totals up to 7,904.
So, the limited figures show that the Cybertruck is ahead. But the Ford F-150 Lightning is at about 15,645 models for the year and could be ahead.
In April, the Cybertruck recalled every model on the road, which was only 3,878 units. The F-150 Lightning soared past that figure earlier in the year.
Tesla has sold 21,551 EVs that aren’t the Model Y so far in 2024. However, the Model X, Model S, Semi, and Cybertruck make up that figure.
Despite not having all of the information or facts to back up the claim, X users are celebrating the Cybertruck as America’s best-selling electric pickup truck.
Lead Tesla Engineer, Wes Morrill shares that the Cybertruck is the best-selling eclectic pickup truck in America and the most American-made truck.
According to the latest American-made index, the Honda Ridgeline is the most American-made truck. The Tesla Cybertruck was disqualified for unclear reasons. So, once again, there is no proof.
Claims about the Cybertruck could be true. I’m not saying that Tesla is lying. However, I need actual facts and evidence to support these assertions.
