Sorry, I know that Tesla Cybertruck problems are starting to sound like a broken record. But, when a truck has dangerous issues, it’s best to make the public aware. So, what exactly is going on with the Tesal Cybertruck and its acceleration issue?

The Tesla Cybertruck can’t brake while accelerating

One man waited for five years to get his Tesla Cybertruck, only to accidentally crash it after four hours of use. Hitting the brakes failed to disengage the accelerator and the owner hit a structure. His daughter was in the Cybertruck too.

Reportedly, Tesla said that it reviewed logs, and due to the terrain the accelerator may or may not disengage when the brake is depressed. But it’s still reviewing why the back tires are locking up.

The repairs from the accident will cost about $30k and waiting for certain parts could take over a year, but Tesla isn’t taking responsibility. It told the owner to go through insurance. He has been waiting for two months for the insurance determination.

Others have also faced braking issues. The Cybertruck is designed to brake when the accelerator pedal isn’t in use with one pedal mode engaged. However, people have been receiving warnings that the regenerative braking is constrained.

Regenerative brakes may not be as effective for slowing the vehicle down if temperatures are around freezing and if the battery is fully charged. But you can adjust the setting to use the regular braking system when regenerative braking is limited.

Also, this issue is separate from the acclerorator pedal recall. With the recall, the accelerator pedal covers may slip off, causing the accelerator to get stuck.

The recall included 4,000 Telsa Cybertruck models and caused a stop-sale. However, deliveries should be back on track for now.

This breaking problem could lead to another official investigation and another recall soon. Stay tuned for updates and give yourself some extra space from others in the Cybertruck.
