The Tesla Model 3 is winning over customers with top-notch safety credentials, good electric range, and by being the most wallet-friendly Tesla for car shoppers. Still, there is an ace up the Model 3’s sleeve if you’d rather focus on speed than utility. That ace is the Tesla Model 3 Performance, and it’s fast enough to beat really fast cars like the Dodge Challenger Hellcat and these others.

The new Toyota GR Supra 3.0 is swift, but not quick enough to outrun a Tesla Model 3 Performance. The Supra will complete the sprint to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds, whereas Tesla claims that the Model 3 Performance with AWD and its 340-kW powerplant will shoot to sixty in just 3.1 seconds. That is one quick EV.

How much faster is a Tesla Model 3 Performance than a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1?

The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is a serious track car version of the storied pony car, but it still isn’t as quick as a Model 3 Performance. Specifically, the ZL1 1LE will launch to sixty in just 3.4 seconds. While that is blazingly quick, especially for what is basically a muscle car, it is still 0.3 seconds slower than the Model 3. Still, the ZL1 is a remarkable track weapon and offers a true manual transmission, more than you can get from a Tesla.

What car is faster than a Ford Mustang Shelby GT500?

The Tesla Model 3 Performance is faster than the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 in a sprint from 0-60 mph. The difference isn’t much, but the Shelby GT500 is a purpose-built, track-focused performance car. Ford’s premier muscle car will dash from 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds, the same time as the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE.

Is a Tesla faster than a Dodge Challenger Hellcat?

Dodge Challenger Hellcats have made a name for themselves over the last seven years, but that doesn’t make them faster than the Tesla Model 3 Performance. While the Widebody Hellcat will roar to sixty in just 3.7 seconds, the Tesla claims that the speed-focused baby EV will hit sixty in 3.1 seconds. Still, EV owners will be choosing instant torque over an orchestral display of baritone V8 sounds and supercharger whine.

The Model 3 Performance is faster than really fast cars, like the famed Porsche 911 Carrera

While the Porsche 911 Carrera is fast and getting faster every year, super-fast EVs like the Model 3 Performance are faster. According to MotorTrend, the venerable Porsche will dash from 0-60 mph in only 3.6 seconds with the PDK transmission and launch control. That speed is impressive, given that the Porsche has (cough) only 379 horsepower at its disposal.

Aston Martin’s latest flagship grand tourer, the DB11, is seriously quick. According to Car and Driver, the DB11 AMR will race to sixty in just 3.4 seconds. Still, that’s not quick enough to beat the Performance or Plaid models to 60 mph.
