Somehow Telsa continues to shock us with wild information. Elon Musk is always up to something! Now the Tesla Model Y will come with a standard bioweapon defense mode. Let’s dive in to see exactly what that means. 

The Tesla Model Y includes a bioweapon defense mode 

Alright, so the Tesla Hepa filter with bioweapon defense mode will be standard on new Tesla Model Y electric SUVs that are manufactured at the Fremont factory. This comes after the Model X and Model S have started utilizing massive Hepa-rated air filters. 

Basically, Tesla is working to develop a more powerful air filtration system to reduce local air pollution with electric vehicles and to reduce the direct impact of air pollution for the occupants of these vehicles. 

The Telsa Model Y will help you breathe easier. Tesla suggests that the filter in the Model X is about 10 times larger than normal car filters. It’s also 100 times more effective than premium auto filters, with the ability to remove at least 99.97 percent of fine particle matter and gaseous pollutants. Bacteria, viruses, pollen, and mold spores are also removed. 

But the Hepa filter has a bioweapon defense mode? 

Yes, the Hepa filter in the Tesla Model Y will have a bioweapon defense mode. It will be in the Model Y instead of other options because the Model Y has enough space to make it work. Elon Musk might be a little bummed because the Model 3 doesn’t have enough room. 

Anyways, when the Hepa filter is operating on full blast, Tesla claims it’s powerful enough to protect against a bioweapon attack. Biological warfare is also known as germ warfare. It involves the use of infectious agents like bacteria, viruses, insects, and fungi with the intent to incapacitate, harm, or kill humans. 

Having those types of particles filtered out of the air does seem beneficial. Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, credits Google Co-Founder Larry Page for getting him into the idea. Also, Tesla introduced the first filter and bioweapon defense mode to electric SUVs manufactured in China. 

The Tesla Model Y is already transitioning to fit the larger filter in the Fremont factory. Do we need this defense mode, though? Allergy sufferers may really enjoy the larger filter, but it may cause the price of the Model Y to increase? 

What else is new with the Model Y? 

You can get started in a 2021 Tesla Model Y for about $39,990. Other than adding a pair of pop-up third-row jump seats, the Model Y didn’t receive any significant design or technology upgrades for 2021. 

The 2022 Model Y may include minimal updates along with the larger filter. With the ability to receive over-the-air updates, it may gain software updates with enhanced features and new inferences. 

With the Standard Range model, you get about 244 miles of driving ranger per charger. The all-wheel drive Long-Range model provides up to 326 miles of range. The performance model offers 303 miles of range and includes 20-inch wheels, a lowered suspension, a faster acceleration, a top speed of 145 mpg, and a dedicated Track mode. 

Tesla is full of surprises, though, so we could see a few more innovative features to arrive with the larger Hepa filter. We will keep an eye out for updates. We’re sure another astonishing announcement is right around the corner.
