Among those anxiously awaiting the arrival of the first electric Tesla Semi include those who put down a reservation for one. Tesla started taking orders for the massive electric truck in 2017. As one might imagine, there’s a long list of customers waiting for their new truck. According to Electrek, it’s possible that Pepsi Co. will be the first recipient of the new Tesla truck. After all, Pepsi ordered an astonishing 100 trucks, making them likely one of the Tesla Semi’s biggest customers.

The Tesla Semi was first supposed to go into production in 2019

The Tesla Semi truck was first announced in 2017. At that time, it was supposed to go into production in 2019. Of course, that didn’t happen, and production was delayed not once, but several times. Then, according to Electrek, Tesla produced a small amount of Tesla Semis in 2021. Still, it delayed mass production of the Tesla Semi until 2022 because of a shortage of battery supplies.

The Tesla Cybertruck will also eventually have 500 miles of range

The Tesla Cybertruck has been delayed similarly to the Tesla Semi. It’s supposed to finally go into production and be available sometime in mid-2023, though its final timeline remains to be seen. And, like all things Tesla, whether it actually has 500 miles of range will also be something that we’ll just have to wait to find out.
