Even if you haven’t had a Publix sub, you’ve probably encountered Portillo’s, Wawa, or even…Subway. Most of these places have a 12-inch sub sandwich, which we will use as a unit of measurement for the 2023 Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro cargo capacity. The Toyota Sequoia interior is divided up differently, making better use of the space in the SUV. No matter how you slice it, there are many ways to fill up the full-size Sequoia, even if you don’t need a lot of sandwiches.

The 2023 Toyota Sequoia interior has 86.9 cubic feet of space behind the front rows, with no other seating available. Behind the second row increased to 49.0 cubic feet, and 22.3 cubic feet behind the third row while slid forward. With the third row in place, the 2023 Sequoia has 11.5 cubic feet of cargo space in the back.

However, the Toyota Sequoia is huge at 208.1 inches long and 79.8 inches wide. After driving the SUV around for a week and trying to park it in spots, the size dwarfs most other vehicles on the road. There is a lot of space throughout the cabin of the Sequoia, but the cargo space with the third row folded is a little small. Toyota offers a new sliding third row for extra space, an improvement over last year’s cargo area offering.

While driving the 2023 Sequoia TRD Pro, there was never a moment that required more space. Behind the front seats had plenty of room, and the captain’s chairs held bags and other items. We needed to open the trunk only when the grocery store was involved.

So how many Publix or Wawa subs, whatever foot-long sub comes to mind while reading this, can you fit in the Toyota Sequoia interior? Let us find the volume of a sub first.

How many Publix subs will fit in the Toyota Sequoia interior?

There’s a chance you could fit around 1,390-foot-long Publix subs in the Toyota Sequoia interior. We must make some assumptions here and assume that a foot-long sub is delivering on size. That would be about 12 inches (1 foot) in length, 3 inches in width, and 3 inches in height. Determining the number of foot-long subs that would fit into the given space would mean taking the total cargo space by the volume of a single sub. That works out to about 1,390 foot-long subs in the Sequoia. Should your chicken tender sub be extra full, you might fit fewer sandwiches in the SUV. If you find yourself with some sad and soggy sandwiches, there could be room for a few extra.

This is excellent information if you ever plan to sponsor an event and need to transport 1,000-foot-long subs quickly. At first glance, it might seem like there isn’t much space in the cargo area because of the folding and sliding seats. It makes a lot more sense once you figure out how it works.

Toyota divided the cargo area and seats in a way that offers versatile storage space for all your things. The 2023 Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro floor in the back is adjustable to a few different heights, allowing the area to be used for more than one thing. It is one of the more thoughtful features on the Sequoia that would make it easy to live with.

You can probably sleep in the 2023 Toyota Sequoia interior in more ways than most SUVs. It would fit a small mattress in the back with the rows folded. Using the moveable cargo floor, you can store some things in the trunk area and put the floor in to make your bed platform even roomier.

The power sliding and folding seats make life easier. You don’t have to crawl inside and find a lever to pull, but that is an option. Otherwise, a button does most of the work for you. The hands-free trunk opening is also helpful when your arms are full, which is a common occurrence down here in Florida. If your arms aren’t full of Publix subs, what are you really doing?
